Inter-Company Boxing Championship, Northern Ireland, 1986
As well as playing a variety of sports, soldiers can take part in adventure training activities such as rock climbing, skiing and canoeing.

 

 

Wives and husbands on exercise, Minden, 1986
Married soldiers live with their families and are accompanied by them when they go on overseas tours. On this occasion 40 wives tried a soldiers’ life for themselves, going on long marches and patrols for two days.

 

 

2nd Battalion Officers in the Gulf, 1991
The 2nd Battalion, nicknamed the Poachers, was deployed to Kuwait as part of the British Force in the Gulf. The photograph shows officers from the Poachers with colleagues from their All Arms Battlegroup. Vehicles from the Infantry, Armoured Corps and Royal Artillery form the backdrop.
